Chinese Nationals in Sri Lanka Received First shots of Sinopharm Vaccine Successfully

On 5 and 6 April, a total number of 2,456 Chinese nationals working or residing in Sri Lanka received their first jabs of Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine respectively in Colombo, Hambantota, Kandy and Puttalam. The vaccination rolls out smoothly and safely, with no adverse effect reported so far. The second shots are scheduled in 3 weeks’ time.

The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Colombo, together with the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Sri Lanka and the Sri Lanka Overseas Chinese Association, would like to extend their greatest gratitude towards Sri Lankan government, the Ministry of Health, local municipalities and all the front line medical workers who provided tremendous assistance and hospitalities in this regard. Long-live the China-Sri Lanka friendship.
