Yet another community welfare program initiated by the Sri Lanka China Journalists Forum with the aim of enhancing nutritional status of the poverty-stricken families is now being implemented in different parts of Sri Lanka.
This timely program is being implemented with the assistance from China Friendship Foundation for Peace and Development.
Under the first phase of the program, 465 families suffering from poverty were provided dry rations. These families were selected from poverty-stricken villages in the Puttalam, Kegalle and Anuradhapura districts.
The program aims to distribute packets of dry rations to 1000 families and the second phase of the program will be implemented in the Colombo district. Arrangements have been made to conduct the third and fourth phases in the Galle and Matara districts respectively.
The Sri Lanka China Journalists Forum has implemented a number of community welfare projects, with the assistance from China in the past.
