Chinese Ambassador and Mahanayake Thero of Asgiri Chapter Extend Assistance to Needy Families in Uva Province

Chinese Ambassador Qi Zhenhong, in collaboration with the Mahanayake Thero of Asgiri Chapter, joined hands today to provide much-needed support to 1,500 underprivileged families from diverse communities in Uva Province, Sri Lanka. This noble initiative took place at the Muthiyangana Temple and several other temples in the region as part of the Faxian Charity Project led by seven Buddhist temples from China.

With a shared commitment to compassion and service, Ambassador Qi Zhenhong and the Mahanayake Thero embarked on a mission to alleviate the hardships faced by vulnerable families in Uva Province. The distribution of food packages aimed to address immediate nutritional needs and provide relief during challenging times.

The event took place at the revered Muthiyangana Temple, a significant religious and cultural landmark in Sri Lanka. In addition to this, several other temples within Uva Province also became focal points for the distribution drive, emphasizing the collective effort to assist as many families as possible.
